Lapwing on the Ythan
On Sunday we braved the wind and rain to try and catch some more lapwing to be colour ringed on the Ythan. The strong winds prevented the net fully extending but we still caught 6 birds which provided a good challenge for sexing and moult!
Welcome to the Website and Blog of the Grampian Ringing Group. We're a very active bird ringing group covering the entire Grampian region since 1977. We use a wide variety of catching techniques from mist nets to cannon nets and we carry out a huge variety of species specific projects. We're always happy to accept new members and if you have any queries just get in touch: grampianringing@googlemail.com.
